Australia Germany World Cup 2010 game to be shown in 3D

The Australia vs Germany Group D World Cup 2010 game will be shot in 3D by Sony, world football’s governing body FIFA has announced. The game, likely to be sponsored by Sony Australia, will be available to view at cinemas across the country. It may also be shown live on air should one of the country’s broadcasters tie up a 3D coverage deal with FIFA.

The Australia-Germany fixture is one of 25 games that will be shot in 3D at this year’s quadrennial extravaganza.

Sony’s 3D television sets are set to hit stores in Australia in late June.

Stiliyan Petrov wants Martin O’Neill to stay

Aston Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov has made a plea to manager Martin O’Neill to stay at Villa Park next season. O’Neill is reportedly at odds with the club’s owner Randy Lerner and is said to be contemplating a move away from the Midlands outfit in the summer.

I’m sure the manager is not short of propositions from other clubs – but we all want him to stay as he has done a great job here and he’s a great man as well,”

“Hopefully, after the summer meeting, he will still be here.”
