Jorginho stats vs West Ham | Record for most passes by a player in a Premier League game

Chelsea summer signing Jorginho created a new Premier League record when the Blues took on West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The former Napoli star made 180 passes- a record for most passes made in a league game since records were started to be kept back in 2003/04.

To put that figure in perspective, ten teams have made less than 180 passes in a full Premier League game as on date. Jorginho’s 180 effectively meant a pass every 30 seconds. The Chelsea player with the next highest number of passes in the game against the Hammers was defender Antonio Rudiger with 86.

Video Lucas Leiva all Liverpool Goals (7 Lucas LFC goals)

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva, one of Liverpool’s longest serving players, has decided to swap Anfield for the Olympic Stadium after inking a contract with Italian giants Lazio.

Lucas made close to 350 appearances in LFC colours. He scored only seven goals in his decade long stint with the Reds, but they were quite good ones- as this video will show you. From his first strike against Havant & Waterlooville to his last against Plymouth Argyle and goals against the likes of Chelsea, Benfica and Steaua- he found the back of the net in a variety of competitions.

He went five seasons without a goal before breaking the drought against Argyle. His most productive season was 2008/09, when he scored thrice.

Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool?

Reports in the press suggest that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may be open to a move to Liverpool this summer. The winger has 12 months to go on his contract at Arsenal, but the club are yet to begin negotiations on a new deal, unlike Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, both of whom have a similar period to go on their contracts but are already in discussions with the club.

Ox, the boyfriend of Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, has been in decent form over the last few months, but a lot would depend on where Liverpool would finish, with the Reds still not assured of Champions League football at the time of writing. Continue reading
