Newcastle United have been dealt a blow by the news that versatile midfielder Ryan Taylor has been ruled out for the next three months with ankle damage. Taylor suffered the injury when he collided in training with defender Sol Campbell.

Taylor, who can play as both a right midfielder and a right back, will miss all of Newcastle’s upcoming games in November and December and possibly January too.

Taylor has made four appearances for the Magpies this season and joins a growing injury list that already includes Kazenga LuaLua, Hatem Ben Arfa and Steve Harper.
