Tottenham’s back three of Ben Davies, Toby Alderweireld and Juan Foyth will not look back upon the second half of their League Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur too fondly.

The Lilywhites were leading 2-0 before some poor defending saw West Ham score thrice in fifteen minutes, and the trio, chosen as part of a flat back three by Mauricio Pochettino, copped some flak for some lazy defending.

Davies and Foyth played their respective opponents onside for West Ham’s first and second goals (both scored by Ghana star Andre Ayew), and Alderweireld failed to stop Angelo Ogbonna from thumping in a beauty to make it 3-2. Continue reading

Can Spurs leapfrog Manchester United?

This weekend’s first Premier League clash also promises to be its tastiest as Tottenham Hotspur travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.
