Reports in the press suggest that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may be open to a move to Liverpool this summer. The winger has 12 months to go on his contract at Arsenal, but the club are yet to begin negotiations on a new deal, unlike Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, both of whom have a similar period to go on their contracts but are already in discussions with the club.
Ox, the boyfriend of Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, has been in decent form over the last few months, but a lot would depend on where Liverpool would finish, with the Reds still not assured of Champions League football at the time of writing.
Chamberlain is also reportedly interested in playing in midfield for Liverpool, but considering that the last person who switched to Anfield for more midfield playing time ended up being converted a left back (Milner) and that the Reds already have the likes of Can, Henderson, Gini, Grujic and Lallana currently and with the likes of Naby Keita and Mo Salah also linked with moves to Jurgen Klopp’s side, it’s a decision he might want to think more over.
Ox’s agent is Aidy Ward, the same person who represents Raheem Sterling, and this could well be a tactic before inking a new deal at the Emirates.
