Zinedine Zidane has become only the second French manager to win the Spanish league title after his Real Madrid side beat Malaga 2-0 at the Rosaleda to finish three points ahead of arch rivals Barcelona.
The last French manager to win the Spanish league title before Zidane was Marcel Domingo, who did it with Atletico Madrid in 1970- Los Colchoneros pipped Athletic Bilbao (they were called Atletico Bilbao during that period) to the title by a single point that year. Zidane is therefore the first French gaffer in 47 years to win La Liga
Real also remain on course to complete a league and CL double this season and will face Italian champions Juventus (who are bidding to complete a treble themselves!) in the final.
