Britannia Stadium renamed as Bet365 Stadium by Stoke City

Stoke City have agreed a six season stadium naming rights deal with Bet365 that will see their current Britannia Stadium renamed as the “Bet365 Stadium”. The Britannia has a capacity of 27,902 but Stoke will redevelop it and increase it’s capacity to over 30,000. The Potters have revealed that the corner between the DPD and Marston’s Pedigree stands will be filled to create a further 1,800 seats

The redevelopment work will completed in team for the 2017-18 season.

Bet365 are also Stoke’s current shirt sponsors and have also announced a 3 year extension to that contract.

Stoke moved from the Victoria Ground to the Britannia Stadium back in 1997. The name came from the Britannia Building Society, but the Britannia brand doesn’t currently exist after it was merged with the The Co-operative Banking Group back in 2009.
